ENJOY THE JOURNEY

"You should enjoy the little detours to the fullest. Because that's where you'll find the things more important than what you want.”

Hunter X Hunter, arguably one, if not the greatest anime of all time, ended off the 2011 version with this quote from one of its main influential characters, Ging Freecs. You see, I have watched/re-watched this 149 episode masterpiece many times since it was first aired. However, for some reason, this quote really stuck with me this time around.

For the past 4 years as a college student I had asked myself the question we have probably asked ourselves at one time or another: "What am I doing with my life?" Now as a recent graduate you would think I would have the answer but that couldn't be farther from the truth. For so long, I have waited and dreamt of a time when I would know exactly what I am doing, why I am doing it, and where I am going. So I waited.

..and waited. and waited... Thinking that eventually "my time will come" or "if its meant for me, it will find me." Fast forward to the present as I am watching Hunter X Hunter in my pajamas at 3 in the morning when I was once again hit with that qoute.

"You should enjoy the little detours to the fullest. Because that's where you'll find the things more important than what you want.”

That's when I realized: In order to enjoy the little detours, you have to first take action. You see, the reason why Ging was able to enjoy the 'little detours' was because he first had a direction in which he wanted to go, however vague it may have been at the time. He moved. He didn't wait for his time to come. Or pray and wish for something to find him. Ging hopped on his dream and went into it full throttle even if he was unaware of where it would take him. I know many of us in life struggle with taking action. Whether it be self-doubt, unmotivation, insecurity or haters. There will always be something to hold us back from where we want to be. But in order to get to where you want to be you have to move. You have to do something, even if it's small, to help progress you into the life you say you want to live. Thats where this blog comes in. I have wanted for so long to become my own boss and inspire others to follow their dreams. I created N_Effect as an outlet to use my passions and interests to inspire people to as well as discover who I am and what my own personal purpose is. I am hoping by the decision to create this blog I begin to take a dive no matter how small into my own self-discovery and in turn help others along the way.

In this blog I will be exploring many different topics, from gaming, to tech, to anime, to travel, to learning about life and in turn will be sharing my story. For the first time in a long while I feel motivated to take upon this challenge and grow mentally and spiritually. So whomever may be reading this I challenge you as well to think about what you want to do/like to do and take a step in that direction. That's all I'm asking. 1 step. To making that dream come true. And if you're like me and don't really know what you want. Brainstorm. Journal. Find things you may be interested in. Pay attention to what you watch on youtube or what you do in your free time. You never know how that can lead you to where you want to be. And you never know, you may find something along the way that changes your life forever. And remember to Enjoy the Journey along the way.
